COLDKILL is the dark electronic dance music project formed in 2015 by Arkana (vocals) and fellow New Yorker ERIC ELDREDGE (music) of futurepop outfit INTERFACE.
Drawing on the music of their youth, COLDKILL is an homage to the vintage sounds of 1980s first wave. Arkana’s deep monotonal delivery enwraps syncopated club beats and oscillating melody lines to deliver a sound more comparable to BRUDERSCHAFT than Arkana’s better-known FGFC820 project.
“Rexx Arkana…is an expert on synth pop and melodic synth music. The debut release of his new endeavour with Eric Eldredge reflects his knowledge of and experience with those sounds, coming in somewhere in the neighbourhood of some of the excellent melancholy synth pop we were hearing in the early days of the millennium. Good stuff.”
